Description

Seafood Rillettes - Les Mouettes d'Arvor

Thanks to Les Mouettes d’Arvor, a cannery on the Brittany coast of France, we can enjoy high quality, seasonably harvested, shelf stable seafood with a distinct French flair.

Serve these amazing rillettes with toasted baguette slices or cucumber rounds. Perfect for the apéro, or for a snack!

The use of ingredients such as butter, Sel de Geurande, composed sauces, and Muscadet wine with fresh cheese are just some of the examples of traditional French ingredients that go into each hand packed tin.

More importantly, Les Mouettes only uses fish from boats docking within five miles of the cannery. Talk about local!

About Les Mouettes d'Arvor

Jacques Gonidec and his parents in Concarneau, Bretagne, founded the Conserverie Gonidec in 1959. For a line of top-quality sardines and fish, he took the name of his favorite football team "Les Mouettes d'Arvor" (Arvor's seagulls). Now, under the leadership of the third generation, the company has expanded and revamped its manufacturing facilities to meet European standards while retaining its artisanship.

Small boats travel along Brittany's southern coast using sustainable fishing practices only. In ice-cold salt water, sardines are first "cured," which strengthens the flesh. The fish are slightly dried after being cleaned and then quickly fried. The fish are cut and placed into the can, by hand, after resting overnight, and coated in EVOO.
