We just took a stroll through SoHo and were struck by how much the architecture reminds us of Paris!
Did you know that the neighborhood's cast iron buildings were inspired by the Haussmannian style of Parisian architecture?
In the mid-19th century, as the city was rapidly expanding, New York architects looked to Paris for inspiration and began to experiment with cast iron as a building material. The result was the beautiful, intricate facades that we can still admire today.
We love how this neighborhood offers a taste of Paris right here in New York. It got us thinking about all the other ways that French culture has influenced this amazing city.
