Every July 14th, France commemorates the storming of the Bastille in 1789, a historic event that marked the beginning of the French Revolution. It is a day of celebrating liberty, equality, and fraternity—values deeply rooted in French culture. In New York, FIAF seizes this occasion for more than 20 years now, to share the festive spirit of France with the local community.
Bastille Day in New York is the lively street festival organized by FIAF on the renowned Madison Avenue, between 59th and 63rd street. This main thoroughfare is transformed into an authentic French carnival, with food and French product stalls, street performers, musicians, and dancers, transporting visitors into a quintessentially French ambiance.
