La Vosgienne Pine Drops
These hard candies made of honey and essence of pine are a French classic, especially appreciated in the cold season. Over the decades, the old-fashioned tin featuring the pine forest of the Vosges region has become nothing short of a French icon.
Since 1927, our tasty LA VOSGIENNE candies have been inspired by nature to offer you moments of deliciousness and refreshment. It is a candy with a unique and intense taste without artificial colouring or flavouring.
La Vosgienne was created in 1927 by André Deudon, a pharmacist from the Vosges, who tried to concoct a pastille made from eucalyptus, honey and pine sap to soothe sore throats. From 1952 onwards, the pine leaf-shaped candy entered a more industrial phase, manufactured in Saint-Quentin, in the Aisne region, for marketing on a larger scale. In 1987, the brand launched several new references: liquorice, raspberry and mint, which were discontinued in 1997 for the mint, and in 2002 for the liquorice and raspberry.
Today, La Vosgienne, which still achieves 80% of its volumes with Sève de pin, still appears as a pillar of the small pocket confectionery
