Jérémy TABURCHI
Jérémy is a self-taught artist, born in 1974, in Nice, France. He created THE PINK CAT in 2006. Success came very fast, at first, with his press drawings, then with his sculptures and paintings. He puts the PINK CAT in so many curious situations that attract all of us. It's unusual, sarcastic, and so true to the reality! This creepy character allows the artist to express his thought and his opinions about the world without any filters or scruples and it's very crunchy and so deliverer!
He was acclaimed and recognized very quickly in 2010 by the Biennial event of Contemporary Art of the UMAM (The Mediterranean Union for the Modern Art, founded in 1946 by Pierre Bonnard and Henri Matisse) and by the International Contemporary Art Show of Monaco. Also web designer, Jérémy Taburchi creates short PINK CAT movies that you can watch on his website. And in 2011, after a comic book and one novel, he explored a new dimension using the resin: the 3D PINK CAT is born, and it fits it very well! His consecration came when Guillaume Aral from the Ferrero Gallery, recognized for his contribution to the emergence of the major French artists such as Arman, Ben, César, Mas, Sosno… gathered under the name of Ecole de Nice, decided to promote and register him as one of their talent.
The exhibition Cat Of Liberty which took place at the Ferrero Gallery in March and April, 2011, was a triumph. He was greeted by the public and acclaimed by the art critics. The "pink cats' wall" was surprising and very appreciated – a real combination's performance of more than one hundred small paintings of 20x20cm(8x8 inches), offering to the spectator a really new impress. That really created a fantastic impression, innovative, a new approach of the art: a sort of mozaïque of colors, sharpness, humor and winks to our international current events.
Deeply shocked after 9/11, and above all by people forced to jump down buildings, he dedicated one of his paintings to them, as a message of support he draws his cat in the same situation, as to save their souls. Don't fall, "catch the sun".
And later, to support all survivors and families, with a combination of both thought and art, he drew his "cat of liberty" which embodied the hope, the enthusiasm and the power of all American people.
